This law creates the necessary legal basis for application of the European directive 2006/32/EU of the European Parliament and Council of April 5, 2006 about efficiency of final energy consumption and energy services and cancellation of the Directive 93/76/EEC of Council published in the Official magazine of the European Union of N L 114 of April 27, 2006 changed by the Provision (EU) N 1137/2008 European Parliament and Council of October 22, 2008.
The Parliament adopts this organic law.
This law regulates the activities directed to decrease in energy intensity in national economy and reduction of negative impact of the energy sector by the environment.
The purpose of this law is creation of premises for increase in energy efficiency, including by creation and support of activities of the structures participating in development and program implementation, plans, the energy services and other measures for increase in efficiency of energy consumption provided by this law.
This law is applied to suppliers of energy services by means of which measures for increase in energy efficiency are carried out, to the distributing companies, system operators of the distributing companies, power suppliers, final consumers, and also to armed forces provided that its application does not affect direct activities of armed forces, and except for the materials used only in the military purposes.
