The government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Armenia which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

being guided by aspiration to development good-neighbourhood, partnership between two states, and also cooperation between them in different areas, including in questions of fight against illegal migration and cross-border organized crime,

being convinced that enforcement of the principles and regulations determining procedure for readmission of persons illegally staying in the territories of the states of the Parties approved by the Parties is important component of regulation of processes of migration, and contribution to fight against illegal migration and organized crime,

respecting the sovereign right of each of the states of the Parties according to its legislation to establish responsibility for illegal migration in its territory or through it foreign citizens and stateless persons,

noting the increasing interest of the different states in harmonization of their national legal system in the field of migration,

agreed as follows:

Article 1. Determinations

In this agreement the stated below determinations have the following value:

a) "readmission" - transfer by competent authorities of the state of the requesting Party and acceptance of the state of the required Party by competent authorities according to the procedure, on conditions and for the purpose of, provided by this agreement, persons illegally staying in the territory of the state of the requesting Party;

b) "illegal stay in the territory of the state of the requesting Party" - entrance on the territory of the state of the requesting Party or stay in the territory of this state in defiance of the legislation existing in it concerning entrance, departure and stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons;

c) "the requesting Party" - the Party sending inquiry for readmission or transit;

d) "the required Party" - the Party to which the inquiry is sent for readmission or transit;
