About participation of the Republic of Moldova in the international peace support operations

The parliament adopts this ordinary law.

This law determines procedure for participation of Sil by peacekeeping of the Republic of Moldova in the international peacekeeping transactions, and also procedure for the organization and preparation of these forces.

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this law the following concepts are used:

peacekeeping and the international security - prevention, control, mitigation or the termination of military operations between the states or within one state by means of the intervention of the third party authorized by the authorized international organizations and which is carried out by the international community with use of multinational military forming, police and civilians for support of process according to the political conflict resolution and restoration of peace;

forces on peacekeeping - the military contingent (military and police personnel) intended for participation in peace support operations and the international security. The military personnel can participate in such transactions as the military personnel of the divisions completed by the multinational principle as a part of groups (medical and other appointment), the whole divisions (platoon, company, battalion) or separate part (detached battalion, crew). Army divisions and military units can go en banc or come down in military units on site of transaction accomplishment. The quantitative list of participants depends on the scale of the conflict and is determined by the respective mandate;
