About legal status of foreign citizens in Turkmenistan
This Law determines legal status of foreign citizens in Turkmenistan, and also governs the relations arising in connection with stay (accommodation) and implementation of labor, business or other activity by them in the territory of Turkmenistan.
Foreign citizens the persons who are not citizens of Turkmenistan and having the evidence of the belonging to nationality of any foreign state are recognized Turkmenistan.
The legislation of Turkmenistan on legal status of foreign citizens is based on the Constitution of Turkmenistan and consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan regulating legal status of foreign citizens in Turkmenistan.
If the international treaty of Turkmenistan establishes other rules than provided in this Law, then rules of the international treaty are applied.
Foreign citizens in Turkmenistan have the same rights and freedoms and perform the same duties, as citizens of Turkmenistan if other does not follow from the Constitution of Turkmenistan, this Law and other legal acts of Turkmenistan.
Foreign citizens are equal in Turkmenistan before the law irrespective of origin, property and official capacity, racial and national identity, floor, education, the residence, language, the relation to religion and other circumstances.
