About protection of plants

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

This law determines legal, economic and organizational basis of protection of plants in the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

Chapter I GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Basic concepts

For the purpose of this law the following basic concepts are used:

harmful organisms - the organisms which are negatively influencing the soil, vegetation and agricultural products and causing economic damage (wreckers, causative agents of diseases, weeds);

especially dangerous harmful organisms - the organisms capable to breed quickly and negatively to influence condition of soils, the woods, vegetation, seed and landing material, and also for the harvest which is stored;

the integrated system of protection of plants - the system of fight against harmful organisms which is characterized by combination of the sparing chemical, agrotechnical, biological, immunological, physicomechanical and quarantine methods, and also the maximum use of the natural factors constraining emergence and development of harmful organisms;

remedies of plants - chemical and biological medicines, other substances, and also the machines and devices used to protection of plants;

the field of protection of plants - the field of activity connected with accomplishment and servicing of complex of actions for protection of soils, the woods, vegetation, seed and landing material and the harvest which is stored from harmful organisms including phytosanitary monitoring and the forecast, and also the state control and supervision;

pesticides - the chemical and other substances used for fight against harmful organisms;

phytosanitary condition - the condition of soils, the woods and vegetation determined by the number of wreckers of plants, spread of diseases of plants and availability of weeds;
