About phytosanitary quarantine

This law determines the principles of the organization and implementation of phytosanitary quarantine for the territories of the Republic of Moldova.

Chapter I General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this law the following concepts are used: phytosanitary quarantine - the legal regime providing system of the state measures directed to protection of plants, products of their conversion, raw materials, different loads, etc. against quarantine objects;

quarantine object - the wrecker, the infecting agent of plants or weed which is absent or restrictedly extended to the republic territories;

quarantine products, quarantine materials and objektylyuby products, materials and objects which can promote distribution or by means of which quarantine objects can extend;

quarantine zone - the territory in which the particular quarantine treatment in connection with identification of quarantine object is set.

Article 3. Main objectives of phytosanitary quarantine

The main objectives of phytosanitary quarantine are:

a) protection of the territory of the republic from penetration or entering from other states of quarantine objects;

b) timely identification, localization and organization of liquidation of the centers of quarantine objects;

c) implementation of the state control on phytosanitary quarantine in case of production, procurement, transportation, storage, conversion, realization and use of products which are subject to phytosanitary quarantine according to the conditions established by this law and procedure.
