The parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopts this law.
This law establishes bases of the state control of production, sale, acquisition, storage, application, import and export of weapon and ammunition to it.
Individual weapon is device (appliance) which is structurally intended (adapted) and technically suitable for defeat of the person, animal, protection against attack or imitation of its fighting properties.
Individual weapon is classified by the constructive and functional signs, purpose, method of production and other criteria determined by the State weapon inventory.
Individual weapon on constructive and functional signs is subdivided into the following types:
a) small arms:
- fire;
- gas-balloon (pneumatic);
- mechanical;
b) cold weapon:
- bladed;
- shock shattering;
- throwing;
c) self-defense weapon:
- gas toxic neutralized;
- aerosol;
- gas-cartridge;
- mechanical sprayers;
- electroconvulsive.
Individual weapon on purpose is subdivided on:
- military;
- office and regular;
- hunting (cut and smooth-bore);
- sports;
- educational (imitating);
- prize;
- collection;
- self-defense weapon.
