This law determines the legal basis of implementation of domestic trade (further - trade) as type of entrepreneurship and the principles of regulation, support and control of trading activity from the state. The purpose of the law is creation of conditions for effective trading activity of physical persons and legal entities in the market of consumer goods and services.

Chapter I GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Basic concepts

For the purpose of this law the following basic concepts are used:

goods - objects of private consumption, products of public catering, industrial goods and other objects of property of consumer appointment intended for retail purchase and sale;

trade (trading activity) - the type of economic activity of physical persons and legal entities consisting in implementation of retail purchase and sale of goods, production, realization and the organization of consumption of products of public catering, rendering additional services upon purchase of goods;

retail trade - sales of goods and rendering services to consumers for private, home and family use, and also to the companies, organizations and the organizations of the social sphere for direct consumption;

wholesale trade - commercial mediation, and also the delivery of goods directly from producers providing purchase and sale of goods with batches for their subsequent realization or use in production and rendering the accompanying services;

public catering - production, realization and the organization of consumption of products of food;

services of public catering - activities of physical persons and legal entities for population requirements satisfaction in food and carrying out leisure;

the consumer market - the sphere of the goods circulation within the Republic of Moldova;
