This law determines the organizational and legal basis of protection of the competition, measure for the prevention, restriction and suppression of monopolistic activities and unfair competition and is aimed at the development of the competitive relations in the goods markets of the Republic of Moldova.

Chapter I GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Scope of this law

(1) This law governs the relations influencing the competition in the goods markets in which business entities, bodies of the central and local public authority and citizens participate.

(2) This law acts on all territory of the Republic of Moldova. It is applied and when the actions made by business entities of the Republic of Moldova beyond its limits bring or can lead to restriction of the competition in the goods markets of the Republic of Moldova.

(3) Operation of this law does not extend to the relations regulated by regulations of legal protection of objects of industrial property, copyright and related rights, except as specified their uses for the purpose of competition restriction.

(4) This law governs also the relations arising in the markets of the capitals if other is not stipulated by the legislation about financial institutions and about securities.

(5) the Relations connected with activities of subjects of monopolies of the state and natural monopolies are regulated by other regulations, except as specified, when activities of these subjects lead to restriction of the competition in the goods markets.
