Being integral part of history and culture of the Kyrgyz people, national sports along with national games of representatives of other people living in the Kyrgyz Republic promote harmonious spiritual and physical development of the personality, healthy lifestyle.
This Law determines the legal basis of functioning and development of national sports in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The legislation on national sports consists of this Law and regulatory legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic adopted according to it.
Main objectives and tasks of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic on national sports are:
creation of necessary conditions for revival and further development of national sports;
determination of functions of the state and local authorities of management, sports, educational, scientific and other organizations of physical culture and sport for development of national sports;
providing social guarantees for the citizens occupied in the field of national sports.
The basic principles of state policy on development of national sports are: humanity, democratism, continuity and succession of spiritual education of citizens.
