Agreement on bases of the relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Republic Georgia

of June 1, 1993

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic Georgia, the High contracting parties which further are referred to as,

relying on historically developed bonds, traditions of friendship and cooperation of their people,

considering that development and consolidation of mutually beneficial cooperation is equitable to interests of both states and serves cause of peace and safety,

the full of determination to build democratic, constitutional states in the territories,

confirming the commitment to the universally recognized norms of international law, to the purposes and the principles of the United Nations,

aiming to develop in every possible way cooperation and to give new quality to relations of two countries,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

High contracting parties build the relations as the friendly states. They shall be guided consistently by the principles of mutual respect of the state sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of the existing borders, equality, non-interference to internal affairs of each other, nonuse of force or threat of force, including economic and different ways of pressure, peaceful settlement of disputes, respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms, cooperation and fair accomplishment of obligations, and also other universally recognized norms of international law.

 Article 2

High contracting parties will cooperate for the purpose of strengthening of the world, consolidation of stability and safety both in global, and in regional scale.

The parties promote disarmament process continuation, formation of systems of collective security, strengthening of peacekeeping role of the United Nations and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, creation and effective activities of institutes of regional security and the mechanism of settlement of armed conflicts.

 Article 3

High contracting parties shall resolve disputes which can arise between them, by exclusively peaceful means, not subject to threat international peace and safety.
