The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan which further are referred to as with the Parties

based on the principles of equality and mutual respect,

attaching importance to law enforcement, fight against crime, protection of human rights and freedoms,

proceeding from the mutual aspiration to strengthen and develop international cooperation in the questions which are of mutual interest

aiming to perform such cooperation by the most effective methods,

in view of provisions of the Convention on legal assistance and legal relations on civil, family and criminal cases of January 22, 1993 and other international treaties in the field of fight against crime which participants are their states,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties perform cooperation according to this agreement within the powers in case of compliance with law and the international obligations of the states.

Article 2

The parties cooperate in the following main directions:

ensuring protection of rights and freedoms of man and citizen;

fight against crime, including in its organized forms, terrorism, corruption, arms trafficking, drugs and psychotropic substances, crimes in the field of economy and high technologies and other types of crimes posing the increased threat for society;

interaction in questions of issue and legal assistance on criminal cases;

preparation and advanced training of personnel for bodies and organizations of prosecutor's office;

research activities for the questions which are of mutual interest.

Article 3

For the purpose of implementation of this agreement the cooperation of the Parties is performed, in particular, in the following forms:

exchange of information concerning activities of the Parties, including about tendencies of crime and in the field of protection of rights and freedoms of man and citizen;
