3. The department has the right:

sign agreements,

acquire personal and real estate and dispose of it,

perform the financial and economic activities directed to accomplishment of the functions assigned to Department

open and manage bank accounts in any currency,

transfer the money within the Russian Federation or from the Russian Federation to foreign states and vice versa,

initiate proceedings in court and participate in legal proceedings.

II. Main activities and functions

4. The main activities of Department as structural division of Executive committee of the CIS are:

ensuring activities of Economic council of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Commission on economic problems under CIS Economic Council;

ensuring forming and functioning of the free trade area;

development of offers, and also the draft documents aimed at the development of state cooperation of the Commonwealth in economic and social areas for their introduction for consideration of Council of heads of states, Council of Heads of Government and CIS Economic Council according to the competence;
