The government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Moldova which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

wishing to develop cooperation and proceeding from equal rights of citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the field of provision of pensions,

agreed as follows:

Article 1.

For the purposes of this agreement the following terms mean:

1. "Citizens" - persons who are constantly living in the territory of the Russian Federation or the Republic of Moldova and to whom the legislation of these states in the field of provision of pensions extends.

2. "Family members" - persons having pension entitlement on the occasion of loss of the supporter according to the pension legislation of the Russian Federation or the pension legislation of the Republic of Moldova.

3. "Permanent residence" - the place of permanent or preferential residence of citizens determined or recognized as that by the legislation of the relevant state.

4. "Working (insurance) life" - duration of the labor and other socially useful activity recognized as that by the legislation of the Parties during which insurance premiums for provision of pensions are paid.

5. "Authorities" - for:

Russian Federation - Ministry of social protection of the population;

Republic of Moldova - Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family.

All other terms or expressions used in this agreement have significance which are attached to them by the legislation of the relevant state.

Article 2.

Provision of pensions of citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and also members of their families is performed by the legislation of the state in the territory of which they live.
