This Law determines the legal basis of implementation of trade in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, state regulation and control in the field of trade and is directed to creating favorable conditions for effective implementation of trade for the purpose of satisfaction of demand of physical persons and legal entities for goods, performance of works, rendering services.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Coverage of this Law

Operation of this Law extends to the legal entities performing trade in the territory of the Republic of Belarus (further trade organizations) and individual entrepreneurs.

Operation of this Law does not extend to the relations connected with:

implementation of sales of goods by the physical persons who are not individual entrepreneurs;

implementation of foreign trade activity;

purchase and sale of securities;

purchase and sale of the real estate;

implementation of currency exchange transactions;

rendering utilities;

activities of pawnshops;

intellectual property items.

Article 2. The basic concepts used in this Law and their determinations

For the purposes of this Law the following basic concepts and their determinations are used:

trade - business activity of trade organizations and individual entrepreneurs which cornerstone the relations selling the made, processed or goods purchased, and also on performance of works, rendering the services connected with sales of goods are;

goods - things (objects of private, family, house consumption, industrial goods and other property), held for sale;
