being convinced that bonds in the field of culture, science and education are equitable to radical interests of the people of both states and will promote further expansion of mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Russia and Georgia,
proceeding from regulations of the Contract between the Russian Federation and the Republic Georgia on friendship, neighborliness and cooperation of February 3, 1994,
agreed as follows:
The parties, relying on centuries-old experience of communication of their cultures and considering that the cultural cooperation remains important factor of mutual understanding and trust between their people, strengthenings of interstate and international bonds, approvals of universal values, will and promote development of cooperation between them in the field of science, culture, education and sport on the basis of mutual respect of sovereignty, equality and non-interference to internal affairs and according to the laws and rules existing in each country from now on.
For the purpose of the best acquaintance with achievements of culture of the Party will encourage bonds and creative cooperation in the field of culture and art, including way:
a) cooperation between the creative unions of artists and cultural institutions;
b) developments of business contacts between the organizations and cultural figures;
