About interaction in the field of hydrometeorology

The agreement parties which are hereinafter referred to as with High contracting parties

recognizing importance of regular obtaining and use of hydrometeorological information for safety of the population, effective maintaining the national economy and ensuring defense capability,

understanding responsibility for providing safe favorable conditions for accommodation and timely protection against natural disasters,

noting that development of hydrometeorological processes is dynamic and has no frontiers, and the correct interpretation of hydrometeorological data requires use of information from the big territories which are not matching with administrative or other division

understanding need of carrying out the coordinated basic and applied researches having interstate value and interest

aiming at coordinated actions in the field of exchange of hydrometeorological information,

agreed as follows:

Article 1.

High contracting parties develop and pursue single policy in the field of obtaining and use of hydrometeorological information, including observance of the approved methodology of observations and technology of collection and distribution of information, taking into account the international agreements developed earlier and signed by the former USSR.

Article 2.

High contracting parties shall in coordination and is coordinated to provide:

regular exchange of hydrometeorological information, including in case of natural disasters;

the approved methodology of hydrometeorological observations;

the approved technology of collection and distribution of hydrometeorological information;

scientific research, of common interest (development of long-term forecasts of weather, methods of active impact on meteorological processes, etc.), and researches of the global phenomena (climate change, destruction of ozone layer, etc.);

organization of providing Armed Forces with hydrometeorological information;
