The State Parties of this agreement on behalf of the governments, further - the Parties,

based on the Agreement on mutual ensuring safety of interstate secrets from January 22, 1993 and the Agreement on measures for protection of industrial property and creation of Interstate council on questions of protection of industrial property of March 12, 1993,

proceeding from need of legal protection of the confidential inventions created in the former USSR

considering mutual interests of the Parties in ensuring their state security,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement the following terms mean:

confidential inventions - inventions which contain the data constituting the state secret (interstate secrets) according to the national legal system of the Parties;

declassification of confidential inventions - the procedure of removal of security classification from the documents concerning confidential inventions;

the security document for the confidential invention - the document which according to the national legal system of the Parties provides legal protection of the confidential invention;

applicants - the authors living or being in the territories of the Parties, and also the companies, organizations, the organizations which submitted applications for issue of the copyright certificate or the USSR patent for the confidential invention;

the concerned party - the Party in the territory of which there are applicants;

competent authorities - the state bodies determined by the Parties for accomplishment of this agreement.

Article 2

The parties provide the privacy mode concerning the data on confidential inventions which are available for them according to the Agreement on mutual ensuring safety of interstate secrets from January 22, 1993.
