About introduction of amendments to the Law on turnover of narcotic, psychotropic substances and precursors No. 382-XIV of May 6, 1999

Art. I. - In the Law on turnover of narcotic, psychotropic substances and precursors No. 382XIV of May 6, 1999 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 1999, No. 73-77, of the Art. 339), with subsequent changes, to make the following changes:

1. In all text of the law of the word "Interdepartmental Commission on Fight against Drug Addiction and Drug Trafficking" shall be replaced with words "The national commission on fight against drugs", and the word "commission" - the words "National Commission" in the corresponding case.

2. State Articles 5 and 6 in the following edition:

"Art. 5. - (1) the National commission on fight against drugs (further - the National commission) is the interdepartmental body created by the Government for the purpose of promotion of policy of the state in the field of turnover of narcotic, psychotropic substances and precursors.

(2) the National commission in the activities is guided by the current legislation, international treaties and conventions, one of the parties of which is the Republic of Moldova, and also this law.

Art. 6. - National commission:

a) implements the requirements provided by international conventions of the United Nations, such as: Single convention on drugs (1961), Convention on psychotropic substances (1971,г.) and the Convention on fight against illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances (1988), one of the parties of which is the Republic of Moldova;

b) creates platform for permanent interrelation with the bodies of the central and local public authority, subjects promoting implementation of policy in the field of drugs for the purpose of accomplishment of the actions provided in the National plan of action for fight against drugs approved by the Government;

c) develops suggestions for improvement of the legislation in the field of fight against drugs;
