The government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

noting important role of standardization, metrology and assessment of conformity of products in elimination of technical barriers in economic, trade and other relations, recognizing their need for ensuring compatibility, interchangeability of products, its harmlessness for health of the person, the environment and its safety for life,

considering mutual economic interest,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties, having complete independence in questions of forming and realization of systems of standardization, metrology and assessment of conformity, and also the organization of work in this area:

1.1. cooperate concerning development of national authorities of standardization of the Parties and communicate connected with it;

1.2. provide the degree of equivalence of national standards of units of measurements meaning that these standards correspond to the reference values established by results of the international checkings;

1.3. provide compliance of procedures of approval of type of the measuring instruments made in the territory of the Parties and their checking to requirements of the international documents and documents of the European Union;

1.4. cooperate concerning the conformity assessment systems operating in the territory of the Parties and communicate, connected with these systems.

Article 2

Coordination of the works provided by this agreement is performed and responsibility for their accomplishment is born:

2.1. in the Republic of Belarus - Committee on standardization, metrology and certification under Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus;
