THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS AND THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN ON THE COOPERATION IN FIGHT AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING, PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES AND PRECURSORS

of September 7, 2002

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the hereinafter referred to as Parties,

expressing the concern in growth of abuses of drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors and their illicit trafficking,

proceeding from the aspiration to strengthen and develop effective cooperation between the bodies which are engaged in fight against drug trafficking, psychotropic substances and precursors in case of strict respect of sovereignty of the states and the principle of non-interference to their internal affairs,

in view of the Single Convention on drugs of 1961 with the amendments made to it according to the Protocol of 1972 on amendments to the Single Convention on drugs of 1961, the Convention on psychotropic substances of 1971 and the Convention of the UN on fight against illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances of 1988

considering the purposes and the principles proclaimed in the World Programme of Action on international cooperation in fight against production, the offer, demand of illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances of 1988

being guided by the conventional principles of international law, agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties within the competence according to the national legal system and provisions of this agreement for the purpose of development of the approved strategy of joint efforts of fight against drug trafficking, psychotropic substances and precursors (further - drugs), enhancement of activities of special divisions for the prevention and disclosure of the crimes connected with drugs, accomplishment of the international obligations on control of drug trafficking perform cooperation in the following directions:

a) exchange of operational search, operational and help and criminalistic information about:

concrete facts, events and persons involved in interstate drug trafficking;

the vehicles, loads, mailings, routes used in case of interstate drug trafficking;
