The governments of the State Parties of this agreement which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

recognizing importance of cooperation in question of prevention of iodscarce conditions,

proceeding from need of implementation of works within the interconnected and mutually recognized system of national state supervision of quality and safety of iodized salt and the iodated foodstuff in case of their production, storage, transportation and realization,

noting need of carrying out active promotion among the population through mass media of bases of prevention of iodscarce conditions within the Commonwealth of Independent States,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties perform coordinated policy on prevention of iodine-deficiency conditions among the population of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Article 2

The parties provide harmonization and unity of requirements imposed by bodies of the state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance in case of development of the unified content control methods in the iodated iodine products, and also creation of the equipment and devices by its determination.

Article 3

The parties hold the approved organizational, preventive events directed to decrease in iodscarce conditions among the population.

Article 4

The parties are developed and make the mutually agreed decisions regulating production, purchase, realization, quality control and safety of iodized salt and the iodated products, iodinated medicines and other methods of decrease in iodscarce diseases.

Article 5

The parties exchange the normative legal documents concerning prevention of iodscarce conditions existing with national standard rates on content of iodine in iodized salt and the iodated products and also experiment on development of new types of the iodated products, standard rates on content of iodine in them and single control methods.
