About modification and amendments in the Law on religious cults and their components No. 125-XVI of May 11, 2007

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Art. I. - In the Law on religious cults and their components No. 125-XVI of May 11, 2007 (The official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2007, No. 127-130, of the Art. 546) to make the following changes and additions:

1. To state the name of the law in the following edition: "Law on liberty of conscience, thought and religions".

2. In Article 1 of the word "and freedom" shall be replaced with words ", thoughts and".

3. In Article 2:

part (to add 1) after the words "liberties of conscience" with words ", thoughts and religions";

in part (the words "and freedoms" shall be replaced with words 2) ", thoughts and".

4. In Article 3:

the concept "religious cult" after the words "and ceremonial traditions" to add with the words "not contradicting the current legislation";

the concept "religious community" after the word "brotherhoods" to add with words ", local churches";

in concept "religious institution" the word "that" shall be replaced with words "that or religious community,", and "associations and" to exclude words;

in the concept "excessive proselytism" of the word "violence, abuse of the authority, blackmail, malice, threats, coercion, uses of religious hatred, deception, psychological manipulation or different procedures of sublimation" to replace with the word "coercions".

5. In the name of Article 4 of the word "and freedom" shall be replaced with words ", thoughts and".

6. Part (Article 6 to state 2) in the following edition:

"(2) Any religious community cannot belong to two and more religious cults at the same time. Accession of religious community to other religious cult is possible only after its voluntary exit from religious cult in which it consisted.".

7. In part (2) article 7 change concerns only the text in state language.
