About introduction of amendments to the Family code of Ukraine concerning increase in age of consent
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:
I. Bring in the Family code of Ukraine (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2002 No. 21-22, of the Art. 135) the following changes:
1. To state part one of Article 22 in the following edition:
"1. The age of consent for men and women is established in eighteen years".
2. In Article 23 part two to replace the word of "fourteen" with the word of "sixteen".
II. Final and transitional provisions
1. This Law becomes effective from the date of, its publication following behind day.
2. Operation of this Law does not extend to persons who submitted the application for marriage before entry into force of this Law.
3. To the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in a month from the date of entry into force of this Law:
bring the regulatory legal acts into accord with this Law;
provide review and cancellation by the ministries and other central executive bodies of their regulatory legal acts contradicting this Law.
