About frontier of the Republic of Moldova
The parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopts this law.
(1) the Frontier of the Republic of Moldova (further "frontier") is the line separating the overland and water territory of the Republic of Moldova, and the vertical surface passing across this line - its airspace and subsoil from neighboring states.
(2) the Frontier determines space limit of action of the state sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova.
(3) Representatives of interests of the Republic of Moldova on frontier are the Department of border troops, Customs Service and other bodies equipped with functions of control on frontier.
(4) the Frontier is inviolable.
The frontier is established by Parliament with respect for the principles and rules of international law and cannot be changed without adoption of the relevant law.

The agreement on passing and designations of frontier on the area is subject to ratification by Parliament.

(4) Service regulations, servicing and repair of bridges, railroad and automobile tracks, communication lines, electricity transmissions, the hydraulic engineering constructions crossing the line of frontier on the land or boundary waters are determined by agreements of the Republic of Moldova with neighboring states.
(5) Forms, the sizes of border markers and procedure for their installation are determined by the Government based on demarcation documents. For the purpose of ensuring visibility and protection of border markers in places of their arrangement the boundary corridor which size is determined by contracting parties is established.
The legislation on frontier is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, and also on international treaties (agreements) of the Republic of Moldova and consists of this law and other regulations adopted according to it.
(1) Protection of frontier is the integral component of the state system of safety of the Republic of Moldova, one of forms of the armed protection of its territorial integrity and consists in implementation of set of the measures guaranteeing immunity of frontier.
(2) Protection of frontier on the land and boundary waters is assigned to Department of border troops, and in airspace - on part of air defense of the Ministry of Defence.
(1) Border troops are the special type of paramilitary groups intended for protection, and in necessary cases and protection of frontier.
(2) the Legal status of border troops is determined by this law and other regulations. The number and arms of border troops are established by the Government, their organizational and regular structure affirms the head of the department of border troops.
(3) Activities of border troops are based on the principles of legality, publicity, observance of the rights and freedoms of citizens. In case of accomplishment of the tasks assigned to them on protection of frontier border troops are guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, this law and other regulations, international treaties (agreements) of the Republic of Moldova, charters of Armed forces, departmental regulations.
(4) for the benefit of protection of frontier the boundary authorities (commanders of parts and divisions of border troops) communicate and will organize interaction of forces and means with the boundary authorities of neighboring states according to contracts (agreements) of the Republic of Moldova with neighboring states on boundary relations.
(5) Use of border troops for the solution of the tasks which are not connected directly with protection of frontier is performed only based on the resolution of Parliament, and in extreme situations - according to the presidential decree of the Republic of Moldova.
(6) the Staff of border troops consists of military personnel and workers according to the employment contract (contract) - citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
