confirming the commitment to the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual aid between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation of May 25, 1993,

being guided by intentions to develop among themselves partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation on boundary questions on the basis of the conventional principles and rules of international law,

expressing interest in implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation in the solution of practical questions of protection of Frontier of the Republic of Tajikistan,

confirming need of consolidation of efforts for the fight against modern challenges and threats which is equitable to interests of homeland security of the Parties

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement the applied terms mean:

"authority" - the body responsible for coordination of implementation of provisions of this agreement appointed according to the legislation of the Party;

"other department" - the body appointed according to the legislation of the Party participating in implementation of provisions of this agreement;

"Group of boundary cooperation" - the division of authority of the Russian Side performing the activities in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan based on this agreement;

"staff of authority of the Russian Side" - the staff of bodies of Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation passing military service in Group of boundary cooperation and also the employees sent by Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Tajikistan according to this agreement;

"civil personnel of Group of boundary cooperation" - the citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan who arrived according to the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the legislation of the Russian Federation for work in Group of boundary cooperation and containing in it on the state;
