About protection and rational use of fauna
This Law governs the relations in the field of protection and rational use of wild animals of Turkmenistan and is directed to preserving genetic fund and biological diversity of fauna, providing conditions of their existence in the conditions of natural freedom on the land, in water, the atmosphere and the soil.
The legislation of Turkmenistan on protection and rational use of fauna consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation of Turkmenistan.
If international treaties establish other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation Turkmenistan about protection and rational use of fauna then are applied regulations of international treaties.
The relations in the field of protection and use agricultural and pets, and also wild animals withdrawn from the nature and containing in bondage or semi-free conditions for economic, cultural, scientific, recreational, esthetic and other purposes are regulated by the relevant legislation of Turkmenistan.
The relations in the field of hunting and hunting economy, and also fishery, are regulated by the relevant legislation of Turkmenistan.
The fauna in Turkmenistan is exclusive property of the state.
Turkmenistan has sovereign rights and performs jurisdiction on the continental shelf and in sea economic zone of Turkmenistan concerning fauna objects according to the procedure, determined by the current legislation of Turkmenistan, and also rules of international law.
