About the state statistics
This Law determines procedure for the organization of the state statistics, governs the legal relations connected with representation, processing and distribution of statistical information.
The state statistics as component of information system of Turkmenistan represents nation-wide centralized system of collection, processing and analysis of statistical information on the basis of scientific methodology and international standards and is intended for requirements satisfaction of users in it.
The state statistics is based on statistical activities and statistical observations and serves for the analysis of condition and forecasting of tendency of social and economic development of Turkmenistan.
The legislation of Turkmenistan on the state statistics consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan regulating questions of the state statistics.
Operation of this Law extends on legal entities, irrespective of patterns of ownership, located in the territory of Turkmenistan, the residents of Turkmenistan acting beyond its limits, the physical persons performing business activity without formation of legal entity, who are private agricultural producers and also on the faces which are subject according to regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan to the statistical recording.
