This Law determines legal and organizational basis of assessment of conformity of objects of assessment of conformity to requirements of technical regulatory legal acts in the field of technical regulation and standardization (further – assessment of conformity) and is aimed at providing single state policy when implementing assessment of conformity.
In this Law the following terms and their determinations are applied:
accreditation – type of assessment of conformity of which implementation confirmation of competence of the legal entity of the Republic of Belarus or the foreign legal entity in performance of works on confirmation of conformity or carrying out testing of objects of assessment of conformity is result;
accredited test laboratory (center) – the legal entity of the Republic of Belarus or the foreign legal entity accredited for carrying out testing of objects of assessment of conformity in certain area of accreditation;
accredited body on certification – the legal entity of the Republic of Belarus or the foreign legal entity accredited for performance of works on confirmation of conformity in certain area of accreditation;
the certificate of accreditation – the document certifying competence of the legal entity of the Republic of Belarus or the foreign legal entity of performance of works on confirmation of conformity or carrying out testing of objects of assessment of conformity in certain area of accreditation;
