Spread of tuberculosis constitutes threat of homeland security of the country, is one of the reasons of disability, health, the reason of disability and death rate of the population, testifies to problems of poverty, social inequality and needs permanent increase in amount of expenses from the government budget.
Ukraine takes the second place after the Russian Federation among the countries of the European region on indicators of incidence of tuberculosis.
In 2011 indicators of incidence of tuberculosis, its prevalence and death rate from it constituted according to 67,2; Case 155,3 and 15,3 on 100 thousand population. According to the World Health Organization (further - WHO), in Ukraine 16 percent of people at whom new cases are revealed are ill multiresistant form of tuberculosis, and there are 44 sickness rates with repeated cases of tuberculosis that constitutes about 7000 patients. Cases of almost incurable tuberculosis with expanded medicamentous resistance which quantity promptly increases are registered. The special peril is constituted by combination of multiresistant tuberculosis with HIV infection among national groups, vulnerable to HIV infection.
