About introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine "About personal data protection"

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. Bring in the Law of Ukraine "About personal data protection" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2010, No. 34, Art. 481; with the changes made by the Law of Ukraine of February 23, 2012 No. 4452-VI) such changes:

1. State Article 1 in such edition:

"Article 1. Law coverage

This Law governs the legal relations connected with protection and processing of personal data and is directed to protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of man and citizen, in particular the rights to non-interference to private life, in connection with processing of personal data.

This Law extends to activities for processing of personal data which are performed fully or partially using the automated means, and also on processing of personal data which contain in card-index or are intended to entering into card-index, using non-automated means.

This Law does not extend to activities for processing of personal data which are performed by physical person only for personal or household needs.

Provisions of this Law do not extend to activities for processing of personal data which are performed by the creative or literary specialist, including the journalist, in the professional purposes, on condition of ensuring balance between the right to non-interference to private life and the right to self-expression".
