The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Azerbaijan Republic which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties
in view of the friendship combining both the Republic of Tajikistan and the Azerbaijan Republic
being guided by the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic on the trade and economic cooperation signed on March 15, 2007 in Dushanbe
considering mutual desire to develop cooperation in the field of agricultural industry and realizing the leading role of agricultural industry in development of economy and ensuring food security, agreed as follows:
The parties will perform cooperation in the field of agricultural industry on the basis of trust, equality and mutual advantage within legislations of the states, and also cooperation between business entities of both states will render development assistance.
The parties according to the national legal system of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Azerbaijan Republic and within the competence cooperate in the following fields of agricultural industry:
- crop production, including cotton growing and tobacco growing;
- livestock production;
- beekeeping;
- protection and quarantine of plants;
- veterinary science;
- development of joint investment projects in the field of agricultural industry;
- creation of joint businesses for production and conversion (drying and conservation) of products of agricultural industry, including skin and wool;
- preparation and exchange of specialists.
The Agreement can include other directions of cooperation according to the procedure, stipulated in Article the 7th this agreement.
