About veterinary science
This Law determines general, legal, organizational and financial basis of veterinary science, the requirement to veterinary and sanitary safety of live stock products and environmental protection, powers of state bodies, the rights and obligations of the companies, organizations, organizations and citizens in the field of ensuring veterinary and epizootic wellbeing, quarantine of animals, establishes procedure of the state veterinary control.
In this Law the following concepts are used:
disinsection - extermination of arthropod ticks, being carriers of causative agents of infectious (parasitic) diseases of animals;
disinfection - removal or destruction of causative agents of infectious parasitic diseases of animals;
deratization - extermination of rodents, carriers of causative agents of infectious (parasitic) diseases;
quarantine - set of the measures undertaken for prevention of spread of infectious diseases of animals and the person;
organoleptic examination - products quality evaluation by means of sense organs;
antiepizootic actions - set of the actions preventing origin and spread of infectious and invasive diseases of animals;
invasion - infectious diseases of the person, animals and the plants infected with parasites of animal origin.
The legislation on veterinary science is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan and the international legal acts recognized by the Republic of Tajikistan.
