Regulations on customs regime of transit of goods

1. General provisions

This Provision is developed according to provisions of Chapter 6 of the Customs code of the Azerbaijan Republic.

1.1. Transit of goods is the customs regime consisting in movement of goods between two customs authorities of the Azerbaijan Republic including in the territory of foreign states under customs control without deduction of customs duties and application to goods of measures of economic policy (quoting, licensing, etc.).

1.2. The basic concepts applied in this Provision mean:

- transit goods - the goods moved through customs area of the Azerbaijan Republic according to customs regime of transit to which providing customs payment is applied;

- the transit declaration - the customs declaration applied in case of declaration of goods, placed under customs regime of transit;

- customs body sender - customs authority of the Azerbaijan Republic in the territory of which activities the border check point of the Azerbaijan Republic into which goods in transit and vehicles are actually imported is located;

- customs authority of appointment - customs authority of the Azerbaijan Republic in the territory of which activities the border check point of the Azerbaijan Republic to which goods and vehicles are actually taken out is located;

- intermediate customs authority - customs authority in the territory of which activities carrying out cargo operations with goods in transit is authorized.

In case of reloading of goods from one vehicle on another the customs authority in the territory of which activities such operation is performed is considered customs body sender.

- carrier - the transporting person (physical or legal) who assumed before customs authorities obligation about the goods delivery in customs authority of appointment;
