About salt iodination
This Law establishes legal, organizational and economic basis of the measures connected with iodination of salt for the purpose of prevention of diseases of iodic insufficiency in the Republic of Tajikistan and governs the relations arising in this area.
In this Law the following concepts are used:
salt iodination - salt enrichment process by iodine for the purpose of prevention of diseases of Iodic insufficiency;
diseases of iodic insufficiency - the pathological condition arising in connection with violation of functions of thyroid gland as a result of shortage of iodine in organism (violation of functions of brain, abortion, the birth of the dead child, feeble-minded and so forth);
prevention of diseases of iodic insufficiency measure directed to prevention of diseases of Iodic insufficiency.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on iodination of salt is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other laws and the international legal acts recognized by the Republic of Tajikistan.
This Law extends on all physical persons and legal entity, irrespective of form of business, performing activities in the field of salt iodination,
