About entering of amendments into the Criminal code of the Republic of Moldova No. 985-XV of April 18, 2002

The criminal code of the Republic of Moldova No. 985-XV of April 18, 2002 (repeated publication: 2009, No. 72-74, of the Art. 195), with subsequent changes to add the official monitor of the Republic of Moldova with Articles 180-1 and 180-2 of the following content:

"Article 180-1. Intentional hindrance of activities of mass media or intimidation for criticism

(1) Intentional hindrance of activities of mass media or the journalist, and also intimidation of those are punished by penalty in the amount of 150 to 300 conventional units with deprivation for criticism or without deprivation of the right to hold certain state positions for a period of up to 2 years.

are punished by penalty in the amount of 300 to 500 conventional units with deprivation or without deprivation of the right to hold certain state positions for a period of up to 4 years.

c) integrated to plunder or spoil of materials or the journalist's equipments for the purpose of journalism hindrance,

are punished by penalty in the amount of 400 to 1000 conventional units with deprivation or without deprivation of the right to hold certain state positions for a period of up to 5 years.

Article 180-2. Censorship

(1) Unreasonable misstatement of journalistic material or unreasonable prohibition to distribute any information management of public mass media

are punished by penalty in the amount of 300 to 500 conventional units with deprivation or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to be engaged in certain activities for a period of up to 5 years.
