About mountain regions of the Republic of Tajikistan
This Law governs the public relations connected with mountain regions of the Republic of Tajikistan, is aimed at providing sustainable social and economic development of these regions, preserving, effective and rational use of natural resources.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
- mountain regions of the Republic of Tajikistan (further - mountain regions) - the territories having the characteristic natural features (natural high-rise zonality) exerting impact on forming of ecosystems, tenor of life and conducting economic activity of the population living in limits of these territories;
- gipsometriya - measurement of height of the mountain region;
- natural high-rise zonality - the natural change of environment and landscapes caused by climate changes and heights above sea level with education mid-mountain, mountainous, over mountain natural zones;
- protection of mountain regions - set of the measures directed to environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, protection of historical and cultural heritage and traditional tenor of life of the population of mountain regions;
- state regulation of development mountain regionovsistema of management of activities of state bodies which determine the main and essential directions of mountain regions.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on mountain regions is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also the international legal acts recognized by Tajikistan.
