The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of counteraction to spread of the disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection).
The legislation on counteraction to spread of the disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about counteraction to spread of the disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) - the causative agent of chronic infectious immunodeficient disease of the person;
HIV infection - the chronic infectious immunodeficient disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus;
HIV-positive people - persons infected with human immunodeficiency virus;
acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) - final stage of HIV infection with the displays of disease caused by defeat of immune system of the person human immunodeficiency virus.
