This Law establishes legal and organization-legal basis of activities of participants of frontier cooperation, determines the main directions of its state regulation, the principles, the directions, types and forms of interaction of participants of frontier cooperation.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Determination of terms

In this Law the terms provided further are used in the following value:

frontier cooperation - coordinated actions of participants of frontier cooperation on establishment, development and strengthening comprehensive good-neighbourhood, friendship with state and territorial (administrative-territorial) formations or the authorities of border regions of the adjacent states, the populations directed to growth in prosperity, on economic and social progress of border regions of the state, and also the conclusion of the agreements and arrangements necessary for achievement of these purposes, within the competence determined by the legislation of the state;

participants of frontier cooperation - the central public authorities, state and territorial (administrative-territorial) and municipalities in the territory of the border region of the state, authorities state and territorial (administrative-territorial) and municipalities, local government bodies, organizations, the companies, public organizations, other legal entities who are in the territory of the border region of the state and also the physical persons who are constantly living in the territory of the border region of the state, interacting with appropriate authorities, state and territorial (administrative-territorial) formations, other participants of frontier cooperation of the adjacent states within the competence determined by the legislation of the state, international treaties of the state and agreements on frontier cooperation;
