About transportation of nuclear materials between the Russian Federation and Hungary through the territory of Ukraine

The government of the Russian Federation, the Government of Hungary and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

proceeding from friendship between the people and the states of the Parties,

aiming at development of cooperation in the field of use of atomic energy in the peace purposes,

recognizing the need for transportation fresh and spent nuclear fuel and other nuclear materials between the Russian Federation and Hungary through the territory of Ukraine,

considering applicable international agreements and the legislation of the states of the Parties in the field of transportation of nuclear materials,

in view of applicable documents of International Atomic Energy Agency,

in view of membership of the Russian Federation in the Customs union and the Common economic space,

in view of membership of Hungary in the European Union and, in particular, in European Atomic Energy Community, agreed as follows.

Article 1

The parties cooperate for the purpose of ensuring transportations fresh and spent nuclear fuel, other categories of nuclear materials which belong to nuclear fuel cycle, natural uranium, radioactive materials which are formed as a result of conversion of spent nuclear fuel, and also empty transport packaging sets for such materials (further - particular loads) from the Russian Federation to Hungary and from Hungary to the Russian Federation en route through the territory of Ukraine.

Import to the territory and export from the territory of the states of the Parties of particular loads is performed according to the legislation of each of the states of the Parties, and also for the Russian Federation - legal acts of the Customs union and the Common economic space, and for Hungary - the European Union law, in particular, precepts of law of European Atomic Energy Community.
