1. According to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic the city of Osh is the city of republican value having special state value in which control is exercised on the principles of local self-government in combination with public administration on the delegated state powers.
2. The city of Osh - the city which is the administrative and political, economic, scientific and educational, spiritual and historical and cultural center, the location of the southern residence of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and separate state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, and in cases, stipulated by the legislation the Kyrgyz Republic, as well consular establishments of foreign states.
3. Local government bodies of the city of Osh have the right to use the state symbols according to the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The city of Osh has the symbols (the coat of arms, flags, the anthem) approved by the Osh city kenesh.
The legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic on the status of the city of Osh consists of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, this Law, the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "About local public administration and local government bodies" and other regulatory legal acts.
