About modification of the Criminal code of Ukraine concerning responsibility for denial or justification of crimes of fascism

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. The criminal code of Ukraine (2001, Art. No. 25-26, 131) to add sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with Article 436-1 of the following content:

"Article 436-1. Public denial or justification of crimes of fascism, promotion of neo-Nazi ideology, production and (or) distribution of materials in which crimes of fascists and their supporters come true.

Public denial or justification of the fascism crimes against humanity committed in the years of World War II, in particular the crimes committed by the Vaffen-SS organization, structures subordinated to it, those who fought against the anti-Hitlerite coalition and cooperated with fascist invaders, and also promotion of neo-Nazi ideology, production and (or) distribution of materials in which crimes of fascists and their henchmen come true, -

it is punished by penalty from five hundred to one thousand free minima of the income of citizens or restriction of freedom for a period of up to two years, or imprisonment for the same term ".

2. This Law becomes effective from the date of, its publication following behind day.
