About use and protection of emblems of red crescent and red cross
The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of use and protection of emblems of red crescent and red cross, distinctive signals, and also the names "Red Crescent" and "Red Cross".
The legislation on use and protection of emblems of red crescent and red cross consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about use and protection of emblems of red crescent and red cross then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
sanitary vehicles - the means of transportation intended for transportation of wounded, patients and persons, castaway and also medical personnel and medical property;
medical forming - stationary, mobile medical institutions (divisions) and other civil and military medical forming created for search, transportation, establishment of the diagnosis or treatment of wounded, patients and persons, castaway including rendering first aid to them, and also for prevention of diseases;
medical personnel - persons designated on permanent or temporary basis for search, transportation, establishment of the diagnosis or treatment of wounded, patients and persons, castaway including rendering first aid to them, for prevention of diseases, and also for economic, material and other ensuring medical forming;
distinctive signals - radio signal, light signal, electronic identification or other signal which are used for identification of medical forming and sanitary vehicles.
