The government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

realizing that the problems created by corruption pose serious threat for stability and safety of both states, cause damage to sustainable development and law and order,

being deeply concerned bonds between corruption and other forms of crime, in particular organized crime and economic crime, including legalization (washing) of income gained in the criminal way

wishing to develop and enhance interaction, to increase efficiency of cooperation in the field of the prevention of corruption and fight against it,

considering that increase in efficiency of cooperation of the Parties in the field of fight against corruption is equitable to interests of the people of both states,

being guided by the Agreement on creation of the Union State of December 8, 1999, the conventional principles and rules of international law,

agreed as follows:

Article 1. Agreement purposes

The parties within this agreement in case of compliance with law and the international obligations of the states cooperate in the field of anti-corruption for the purpose of strengthening of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the states protected by the law of interests of society and state, development of the approved strategy and joint efforts in this sphere.
