About military and technical cooperation

The Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties

aiming at the mutually beneficial cooperation based on mutual respect, trust and accounting of interests of the Parties

creating system of long-term planning of equipment by perspective samples of arms and military equipment of armed forces, other troops, military forming, law enforcement agencies and special bodies (services) of the Parties and ensuring their fighting capacity,

supporting scientific and technical and production and technological capacities of the Parties in the field of creation, production, repair, upgrade, servicing and utilization of military products for the benefit of armed forces, other troops, military forming, law enforcement agencies and special bodies (services) of the Parties,

proceeding from need of strengthening of defense capability of the Parties,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The purposes of this Agreement are implementation and development of mutually beneficial cooperation in military and technical area on the basis of the principle of equality of the Parties.

Article 2

The parties within this Agreement perform military and technical cooperation in the following spheres:

implementation of mutual deliveries of military products which include arms, military equipment, works, services, results of intellectual activities, including exclusive rights on them (intellectual property), and information in military and technical area, design, regulating, technical, technological, operational documentation, and also any other products carried by the legislation, regulatory legal acts of the Parties to military products;

performance of works on servicing and repair of arms and military equipment;

creation of joint businesses, coproductions on development, production, repair, upgrades and utilizations of military products under approval of authorized bodies of the Parties according to the legislation of the Parties;

carrying out research and development works, including joint, for the benefit of enhancement of arms and military equipment;
