About public associations
This Law according to the Constitution of Turkmenistan is directed to realization of the right of citizens to creation of public associations and determines legal, organizational basis of forming, activities, reorganization and liquidation of public associations, and also governs the public relations arising in this sphere.
Public association - the voluntary, self-governed, non-commercial forming created at the initiative of the citizens who united on the basis of community of interests for realization of the common goals reflected in the charter of public association.
Citizens create public associations at the choice, have the right to enter such public associations on the terms of observance of their charters.
The legislation of Turkmenistan on public associations is based on the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the conventional principles and rules of international law and consists of this Law, and also other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan.
The features connected with creation, activities, reorganization and liquidation of separate types of public associations are regulated by the special laws adopted according to this Law. Activities of such public associations before adoption of special laws, and also the activities of public associations which are not settled by special laws are regulated by this Law.
