The government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Georgia which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

wishing to develop trade and economic, industrial and sci-tech cooperation,

recognizing that necessary condition for development of such cooperation is effective protection of intellectual property,

understanding need of creation on mutual basis of favorable conditions for protection of the rights of authors and owners of industrial property,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties perform and develop cooperation in the field of protection and use of the rights to inventions, useful models, industrial designs, trademarks, service marks and names of places of goods origin, and also on objects of copyright and the related rights on the basis of mutual advantage and equality according to this agreement and other international treaties which participants are or will be the states of the Parties.

Article 2

The cooperation of the Parties is directed on:

harmonization of national regulations with international treaties in the field of protection of intellectual property which participants the states of the Parties are or aim to become;

exchange of information on the questions concerning protection of intellectual property;

the organization of training of specialists for the purpose of studying of experience in the field of protection of intellectual property;

other forms of cooperation approved by the Parties.

Article 3

Competent authorities of the Parties are responsible for implementation of this agreement:

in the Russian Federation - the Russian agency according to patents and trademarks;

in Georgia - the National center of intellectual property of Georgia of Sakpatenti.

The procedure and conditions of cooperation of competent authorities of the Parties will be determined by the special agreement between them.
