On October 31 - on November 02, 2002 in Shanghai of People's Republic of China the meeting of Attorney-Generals of state members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) took place. Took part in work the Attorney-General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tusupbekov R. T., Prosecutor of People's Republic of China Han Zhubin, Deputy attorney general of the Kyrgyz Republic Isaev R. I., Deputy attorney general of the Russian Federation Chaika K. L., Attorney-General of the Republic of Tajikistan Bobokhonov B. K., Deputy attorney general of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dekhkanov B. A.

The meeting took place in the business atmosphere, in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding. The main attention during the meeting was paid to the current situation and determination of the most perspective ways of activation and cooperation increase between the countries in the legal sphere. By results of meeting the following agreements were reached:

1. Attorney-Generals of state members of SCO unanimously believe that against the background of bystry development of processes of economic and information globalization, strengthening of legal cooperation between six countries of SCO allows to find adequate answers to new challenges and threats, and also serves the purposes of preservation of peace, stability and safety in the region.

2. Attorney-Generals declare that in mutual legal cooperation state members of SCO will be strictly guided by the Charter the UN conventional by the principles and rules of international law, and also "The Shanghai spirit" which is characterized by the confidential atmosphere of consultations, mutual respect of variety of cultures, trust, equality of the parties and aspiration for joint development of the people of our countries.

3. Attorney-Generals came to general opinion on need of further strengthening of cooperation in the legal sphere on the following questions:
