The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Customs department under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

considering that the international illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances constitutes big public danger,

in view of role of customs authorities on identification and suppression of arms trafficking, ammunition, explosives, drugs and psychotropic substances, and also persons participating in such turnover

aiming at development and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in this area,

based on provisions of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania about cooperation in fight against violations of the customs legislation of June 7, 1995,

in view of provisions of the Single convention on drugs accepted in 1961, the Convention on psychotropic substances accepted in 1971 and the Convention on the fight against illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances accepted in 1988

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties, on condition of compliance with laws and other regulatory legal acts existing in their states and also their international obligations, within this agreement will cooperate with the purpose of the prevention, investigation and suppression of arms trafficking, ammunition, explosives, drugs and psychotropic substances.

Article 2

For the purposes of this agreement of the Party will exchange:

a) information on methods of fight against arms trafficking, ammunition, explosives, drugs and psychotropic substances;

b) experience of use of technical means, specially trained dogs;

c) specialists for the purpose of training in methods of fight against drug trafficking;
