for the purpose of implementation of the Agreement on creation of Economic union of September 24, 1993,

based on the Agreement between the governments of gosudarstvuchastnik of the CIS on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs of April 15, 1994,

for the purpose of strengthening of fight against smuggling and customs offenses,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will take the due measures directed to enhancement of customs control in freight, passenger traffic and post exchange and also on the prevention of illegal import, export and transit of goods and vehicles.

Article 2

The parties will interact for the purpose of prevention, suppression and investigation of smuggling and customs offenses.

Article 3

The parties exchange:

a) information on the customs legislation of their states;

b) information on methods of fight against smuggling and customs offenses, and also data which can promote prevention, suppression and investigation of smuggling and customs offenses;

c) experience of use of technical means of control and specially trained dogs;

d) publications, scientific developments, education guidances concerning fight against smuggling and customs offenses;

e) information on possible routes of smuggling.

Article 4

The parties on demand or on own initiative, according to the national legal system of their states, provide each other operational data:

a) about persons who are engaged in smuggling or suspects of it;

b) about the goods, vehicles and mailings used for smuggling movement;

c) about the facts of detection of objects of smuggling.
